Doctors were seen providing first aid to people in makeshift camps in this district. The proposed visit by the Governor to the riot scarred Mau had put the district administration in a quantary, which was busy clearing up remnants of the riot that continued for four days beginning October 13. Raj Bhawan sources in the state capital said while the governor planned to visit Mau on Saturday, the final programme would be made available later on. Train services -- snapped since October 14 -- resumed last evening. The proposed visit of a National Commission for Minorities (NCM) team to Mau had been put off on the request of the state government. The three-member team, led by commission vice-chairman Dr M S Usmani, was to make an on the spot inspection of the situation and organise inter-community meeting to restore peace.
